City St George's, University of London
City St George's, University of London was formed in August 2024 through the merger of City, University of London and St George's, University of London. City's origins lie in the Northampton Institute, established in 1894, while St George's is one of the oldest medical schools in England, with a history reaching back to the eighteenth century and alumni including Edward Jenner.
The university has more than 27,000 students from over 170 countries, around half of whom come from outside the UK. It teaches across three London campuses: Clerkenwell, centred on Northampton Square; Moorgate, close to the City of London financial district; and Tooting in south-west London, where health and medical education is based. Six specialist schools span health and medicine, business, law, communications, policy, and science and technology, and the university includes Bayes Business School and the City Law School. It describes itself as the university of business, practice and the professions, and it is well known for journalism, law, business and finance, and medicine and health sciences. The university reports that 86 per cent of its research is rated world leading or internationally excellent, and it holds a Silver rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework.

City St George's has a strongly international student body, with students from more than 170 countries and roughly half of all students coming from outside the UK. A specialist international adviser team supports applicants and students with Student visa applications and other immigration questions. A structured process, including an online Student visa module, leads to the issue of a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS). English language requirements vary by course and are set out on individual course pages.
For international students who need preparation before degree study, the City St George's International Study Centre, run in partnership with INTO and located near Liverpool Street, offers an International Foundation, International Year One and Pre-Master's programmes, including an International Year One in Finance leading to Bayes Business School degrees. Kaplan International College London also offers foundation, pre-master's and International Year One routes into selected degrees. Foundation programmes are not accepted for entry to Medicine.
First-year undergraduates are guaranteed a room in halls if they apply by the deadline, and the guarantee also extends to full-time taught postgraduates who have not previously studied in London.
