Regent's University London

London

Set within Regent's Park in central London, Regent's University London is a private institution. It was founded in 1984 as Regent's College, taking over the former Bedford College site, whose principal buildings were designed by Basil Champneys and opened by Queen Mary in 1913. Taught degree awarding powers were granted in 2012 and university title in 2013, and the powers were subsequently made permanent. In 2020 the university joined Galileo Global Education, a higher education group operating internationally.

With roughly 2,400 students split between undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, Regent's is a small university that presents itself as among the most international in the UK. The majority of its students are from overseas, and over 140 nationalities are represented. Its four schools are Arts and Culture, Law, Psychotherapy and Psychology, and Regent's Business School, and subjects on offer include acting for stage and screen, architecture, psychology, law, and business and management. The parkland campus provides a self-contained environment in the heart of the capital, and the university holds certification as a B Corporation.

Information for International Students

International applicants who do not yet satisfy the requirements for direct entry can take one of the many Regent's undergraduate degrees that include an integrated foundation year, with options in psychology, law, architecture, acting, and business and management. On the Regent's Park campus, Regent's School of English delivers a pre-sessional English course aimed at students who must raise their language skills to the standard their degree requires. It also offers general English and IELTS preparation courses year-round.

Advice on the CAS and on Student visa applications comes from the university's Student Immigration Advisors. Housing is available in Reid Hall, which stands within the campus grounds, and in nearby partner halls, and staff can also help students look for private rentals. According to the university, every new student will be found a place either on campus or in the vicinity. Information on scholarships and funding options for international applicants is published. After completing their degree, graduates are able to apply for the Graduate visa, allowing them to stay in the UK and work. International enquiries are dealt with by a future students team, reachable by telephone, email and WhatsApp.
